By now you're asking yourself, "What in the hell is this horsedog?"
The answer is truly complex, and it must be seen to be believed. I'll attempt to explain...
One fall, those of us who were playing sports began to notice a really large dog that appeared on the fields every afternoon. When I say "large", I don't just mean, "kind of big like a German Shepherd"; I mean, "put a saddle on this thing and ride it" We developed a fascination with this animal, which we came to call "The Horse Dog" It was kind of an amusement, harmless really. Then someone took it too far... In the midst of the usual debacle that is the weekend at Baxter, someone shouted above the ruckus, "Party 'till the Horsedog looks good!" and about 17 people snarfed their beer. Behold, an obsession is born. A mascot is elevated. Obviously, this quick synopsis does not do justice to the supreme mystery that is The Horsedog. To paraphrase an ancient philosophy, "That which can be explained is not Horsedog". The next time you're out at Farley, take a look around, you too might come to understand the aura of this famous beast |
